Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Customer Service:  Consistently deliver the best possible customer experience by ensuring timely,  courteous service, preparedness and cleanliness     
   
- Provide prompt, friendly and courteous service to customers at all times
- Address all customer product and service needs, requests and concerns promptly
- Consistently maintain and replenish supplies in service areas
- Train and assist new personnel in delivering optimal service, machinery techniques and processes of operation
 
Communication:  Manage information in order to maintain and improve service satisfaction, teamwork and operational effectiveness 
 
- Direct all customer complaints beyond scope of position to Supervisor or appropriate department 
- Report customer feedback to Supervisor
- Identify and request any repairs necessary to working equipment
- Report supply or equipment deficiencies to Supervisor
- Identify and recommend opportunities for improving service or operational performance to Supervisor
 
Operations:  Consist of various cash handling processes and procedures including but not limited to: Retail Sales, Valet Service, Programs Sales, Lottery Sales and Cash Advance Services.
 
Retail and Program Services:  
- Pick up, count and verify floats on a daily basis
- Assist customers with retail purchases in Gift Stores
- Assist in merchandising of product in stores
- Assist in monitoring inventories and reporting any product need
- Collect payment for all goods and accurately entering sales in to point of sales system
- Completing daily inventory sheets reflecting program sales
- Prepare and count deposits and reconcile variances at completion of shift
- Assist in counting closing inventories
- Complete and submit all required closing documentation
 
Valet Services:
- Pick up, count and verify floats on a daily basis
- Collect payment for valet services and accurately entering in sales into point of sales system
- Communicate via radio to valet runners
- Completion of daily tracking sheets and organization of all complimentary voucher received by customers
- Prepare and count deposits and reconcile variances at completion of shift
- Complete and submit all required closing documentation
 
Lottery:
- Pick up, count and verify floats on a daily basis
- Accurately process all customer transactions through OLG lottery terminal and point of sale systems
- Accurately process all customer payouts (winnings) through OLG lottery terminal and point of sales systems
- Count and verify all instant scratch ticket inventories. Daily completion of individual scratch ticket inventories tracking sheets
- Ensure adherence to all applicable government regulatory or regulations as per the Ontario Lottery and Gaming and/or the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and the policies defined by Woodbine Entertainment Group
- Collect payment for all lottery sales (online and instant lotteries) and accurately enter into point of sales system
- Communicate directly with Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG)
- Prepare and count deposits and reconcile variances at completion of shift
- Complete and submit all required closing documentation
 
Cash Advance:
- Accurately processing customers debit and credit cards and processing all necessary service charges related to cash advance services
- Accurately checking customers personal identification to ensure polices and procedures of Woodbine Entertainment Group are being adhered to
- Ability to communicate policy and procedure to customers in reference to personal identification and cash advance processes
 - Ability to identify and confiscate fraudulent credit cards and immediately report to Security and Management
- Accurately processing customer transactions through cash dispensing unit
- All transactions processed via the cash-dispensing unit are the sole responsibility of the attendant. Attendants will be financially responsible for all cash shortages/discrepancies
- Recording of all necessary information on all merchant receipts
- Communicate directly with Payment Tech and Internal IT department if needed
- Complete and submit all required closing documentation

Experience/Training/Special Skills/Education Required:

- Proven ability to deal professionally and courteously with customers
- Thorough understanding of methods, machinery and techniques involved in cash handling and processing
- Working knowledge of cash register and tendering procedures
- Proven accuracy in performing basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written)
- Ensure uniform and appearance consistently comply with WEG standards
- Consistently uphold and demonstrate safety rules and standards as designated by Operational Department and Woodbine Entertainment Group
- Able to work in noisy environment
- Ability to stand / walk for 8 – 9 hour periods
- Available to work all shifts
