Job Summary 

Reporting to the Senior manager, the position is responsible for managing the strategic direction and execution of HPIbet Product and Design initiatives. The candidate will contribute to the development and ongoing enhancement of HPIbet product features and will champion user-centric principles to enhance overall customer experience, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with business objectives. The candidate will have a pivotal role in creating a connection between technology, product development, and customer engagement and loyalty. The candidate will be a leader and innovator capable of collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge digital wagering initiatives that promote growth and engagement on the platform.  

Key Accountabilities 

Product Strategy and Roadmap
· Develop and execute the product strategy and roadmap for HPIbet. Aligning design initiatives with wagering objectives, revenue targets, and market demands.
· Drive the HPIbet digital strategy surrounding features and functions that will enhance the customer experience.
·  Collaborate and provide business evaluation of Woodbine’s core digital wagering platform to improve core customer KPI’s (growth, engagement, and revenue) through new and innovative wagering products and services.
·  Manage meetings with senior stakeholders and advise stakeholders at all levels to ensure project success.
·  Propose measurements and metrics to be used in driving, defining and prioritizing HPIbet product strategy, including the measurement of ongoing success and optimization.
·  Contribute to the implementation of strategic business plans to maximize revenues for WEG through existing and new digital wagering product deployments.

Design Innovation and Enhancement
·  Drive innovation in HPIbet product design by staying updated with industry trends, conducting user research, and implementing best practices to continuously enhance the HPIbet platform.
·  Design business cases and proposals to support new initiatives, partnerships, and enhancements to the HPIbet product line. Including leading cross functional teams to execute the new HPIbet mobile application launch.
·  Work with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, CX and Wagering to champion innovative design practices and principles that ensure the creation of an intuitive and functional user interfaces and experiences.
·  Evaluate and make recommendations for incoming consumer facing wagering product opportunities.
·  Manage efforts to identify, define, and qualify new business opportunities in the digital wagering space.
·  Monitor and assess the landscape of competitive solutions and industry digital wagering trends to understand their implications on our competitive advantage.

Collaboration and Communication
 
·  Promote communication and collaboration across the business units to identify commonalities and define extensible wagering solutions where applicable.
·  Create and nurture relationships with external stakeholders who can help build and accelerate WEG’s digital wagering strategies.
·  Respond to internal and external requests in a professional manner demonstrating exceptional service.
·  Contribute product knowledge on all HPIbet services, including HPIbet App and Loyalty products; thereby ensuring full customer utilization of the product to maximize revenues.
·  Drive business growth by building and maintaining relationships with both business and wagering partners across HPIbet markets.
· Ensure related business plans are developed, documented and communicated accordingly.

Quality Assurance
 
·  Ensure the quality and consistency of design deliverables, ensuring they meet the highest standards of usability, accessibility and innovation.
·  Maintain KPIs to assess the impact of new digital wagering product strategies.
·  Manage and adhere to budgets and financial reporting.
·  Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and industry regulations.
·  Lead by example to exhibit, encourage and motivate WEG’s Values and Beliefs.



Knowledge and Education

  • University or college degree/diploma in Design, Gaming or related fields and/or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • Proven track record of 3+ years of product design and management preferably in the wagering, gaming, or digital loyalty products industry.
  • Experience in user experience and user interface design.
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency using Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire design teams, fostering innovation and driving results.
  • Ability to think strategically, translating business goals, customer feedback and industry advancements into innovative and effective design solutions.
  • Excellent communication and customer liaison skills.
  • Knowledge and/or experience working in the Ontario gaming industry combined with knowledge of commercial and retail digital wagering competitors.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating design concepts and rationale to a diverse range of stakeholders.

Lived Experience

  • Prior experience managing design teams, successful digital product launches and/or digital product improvements. For example, managing design processes, conducting user research, and translating customer insights into meaningful design solutions.
  • Exposure to the gaming or wagering industry.
  • Lived experience leading initiatives to prioritize user experience, usability studies or applying user-centric design methods.
  • Experience developing digital product strategies aligned to corporate goals. For example, setting roadmaps for enhancements or identifying and quantifying competitive opportunities.
  • Experience showing a commitment to innovation, keeping updated with industry advancements in product design, and/or integrating new technologies into product development.
  • Exposure to using data to drive design decisions, such as interpreting feedback or market research to inform design strategies.

Financial Responsibility

  • Where applicable this position will be responsible for contributing to budgets, capital expenditures and revenue planning for HPIbet. Additionally, collaboration with internal partners to determine cost estimation and planning for design initiatives and enhancements, identifying areas to optimize budgets, mitigate risks, or evaluate the return on investment of product changes. 

Leadership

  • Leadership skills required: contractor management including directing internal or external UX/UI teams to ensure project design, championing cross functional project teams, strategic and collaborative leadership, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring design excellence to enhance the customer experience.
