Prestigious Design Publication to Carry Two Works from Woodbine
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (July 22, 2009) - Two creative illustrations developed by Winston-Salem’s premier Brand Revitalization Agency, Woodbine*, will be featured in print magazine’s high-profile 2009 Regional Design Annual. This nationally published magazine features the previous year’s best creative works from agencies across the country.
The first illustration to be featured in print is a poster series design for pro-bono client Community School of the Arts (CSA) in Charlotte, NC. The three posters feature a guitar, trumpet or violin with their roots extending down into the earth - a metaphor for how the school helps students plant the roots for a successful career in music. In addition to the inspirational posters, Woodbine also created a new corporate identity for CSA and produced a sales video. The work led to a massive 12% increase in enrollment in the fall of 2008.
"Our vision at Woodbine was to make CSA bigger than just a community school,” said Jason Rapert, the Woodbine designer who created the illustrations. “The design was created to emphasize the importance of nurturing the children's creativity in order to better every other aspect of their lives.”
The second illustration to be featured in print is the logo Woodbine developed for Sasquatch, a licensed line of eco-friendly school supplies - pencil pouches, folders and notebooks - all of which are available nationally at Target, Wal-Mart and K-Mart.
“Having two works featured in such a distinguished magazine as print is a great honor in the creative industry,” said Peter Mitchell, Woodbine President and CEO. “ These illustrations showcase our ability to revitalize brands by giving them new, thriving brand identities.”
