Woodbine Pulls Out All the Stops to Help CEO Win Win Win

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (August 4, 2009) - Long-time advertising executive and Woodbine President & CEO, Peter Mitchell*, wants to be on TV. On an episode of AMC’s “Mad Men” to be specific. And Woodbine is going to get him there by helping him win the Mad Men Casting Call.

Mad Men Casting Call is a contest from AMC in conjunction with retailer Banana Republic. The winner of the contest wins a walk-on role in an upcoming episode of the show. Mad Man Mitchell’s entry can be found at: http://madmencastingcall.amctv.com/photos/view/1568/sort:Photo.created

“Peter is perfect for this,” said Maureen Hall, Woodbine founder and Chief Relationship Officer. “He worked in advertising on Madison Avenue for 20 years and he’s just crazy about the show. Woodbine is really embracing this effort. It would be great for all of us if he wins.”

For 25 years, Woodbine has helped revitalize brands in numerous categories. Now the agency is putting all its smarts and hustle-bustle into helping its main man. Woodbine is enlisting all its online properties to drive people to the website to vote for Mitchell, including Woodbine.com, and the agency’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. The agency is also enlisting a broad network of colleagues, friends and family through its individual employees’ social media and email accounts, and it will be posting videos and photos documenting the effort to YouTube and its own microsite, MadManMitchell.com. As of today, Mitchell is in the top 16 out of nearly 2,000 entries.

“I am humbled by the agency’s efforts to help me reach the pinnacle of my career, a tiny little role on one of the biggest shows around,” said Mad Man Mitchell.
